Missing Image

The ‘Heroes’ trail follows the stories of British soldiers who were hailed as heroes by their contemporaries.  Some of them were awarded the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest award for ‘valour in the face of the enemy’ that can be won by members of the British and Commonwealth armed forces.  The actions of these men and women have been an inspiration to many.  Their stories have been preserved and they stand for hundreds more that have not.
