American Associates of the National Army Museum

Last updated: 1 June 2015

The British Army has been a major force in shaping the cultural, social and political history of the world. The National Army Museum's Collection provides a unique window onto world history and the role that Britain continues to play in international conflicts and in peacekeeping. The breadth of the Collection allows the Museum to tell international stories that appeal to people across the globe.

The American Armed Forces have had a long relationship with the British Army. Starting as enemies they have become staunch allies, and there can be no better way to celebrate this friendship and to learn about its long history than to join the American Associates of the National Army Museum.

Bernard Cornwell OBE, President of the American Associates of the National Army Museum

Supporters of the National Army Museum created the American Associates of the National Army Museum UK, Inc, a US-non-profit organization, to back the Museum and its mission. The American Associates of the National Army Museum aim to raise awareness and support for the National Army Museum.

Donations to the American Associates will be used to support conservation of Collection items, acquisitions, outreach and learning programs, special exhibits, and events and activities in the US, such as special talks by Museum leaders and curators, to share the history of the British Army.

Why not learn more about the Museum's transformational Building for the Future project or discover our work and collections by exploring some of the Museum's online activities such as our extensive new First World War microsite and online exhibitions on the American War of Independence and D-Day and Normandy.
