New War Horse app launched

Michael Morpurgo’s best-selling children’s novel War Horse has already been transformed into an exhibition, film and play. Now it’s an interactive app too!

Our Museum experts have been working with digital designers Touch Press and War Horse publisher Egmont to produce video interviews, objects, information and images for this exciting new app.

The Museum’s curators have helped create a timeline of the First World War to complement the app, adding historical context to the story of War Horse and giving clues about the inspiration behind the book.

The timeline consists of 20 fascinating 3D rotations of objects, videos from war and 240 atmospheric images from the Museum’s Collection. This will accompany music, extracts from the play, illustrations by Francois Place and an 80-minute full reading of the book by Morpurgo himself.
