Family History
Tracing your family history
Since War Horse: Fact & Fiction opened back in October 2011, visitors have been overwhelming us with personal, poignant and heroic tales of horses in wartime from their own family histories.
If you want to discover more about your family’s military history the National Army Museum can point you in the right direction. Our Templer Study Centre provides access to nearly 25,000 archive and photograph collections and 10,000 books. These include cavalry histories, books on horse management, as well as a wealth of wonderful images!
We also have many online research guides and links to other organisations such as Ancestry.co.uk and the National Archives.
