Mrs Rhoda Richards, wife of Major-General Alfred Richards CB, Colonel Commandantm, 31st Bengal Native Infantry, 1842.

Oil on canvas by Richard Augustus Clack, 1842.

Rhoda Richards was born Rhoda Cecilia Howell, of Carmarthen; she and Alfred Richards were married at St Michael's, Bath on 30 January 1812, and had a daughter (baptised on 21 October 1823). This painting is a companion to the portrait of her husband also in the collection of the National Army Museum.
