When America declared war on Great Britain on 18th June 1812, former president Thomas Jefferson commented that the conquest of Canada would 'be a mere matter of marching'. This lecture explores the war’s causes and key encounters and brings to life a man who is as famous in Canada as Wellington is here; General Sir Isaac Brock.
