Transformed through a £23.75 million investment, the Museum’s mission is to connect people with the British Army and its soldiers. Through five new galleries the public can explore what it’s like to be a soldier, why we fought in conflicts (past and present), and discover British society’s relationship with the Army.

Technical Services Engineer

We are seeking to appoint a Technical Services Engineer to play an important role in the work of the Museum’s Computers and Technical Services Department. The successful candidate will help deliver technical support to Museum staff and support audio-visual systems throughout the Museum.

The post-holder will also be expected to participate in project work integral to the Museum’s continued strategic development, supporting an ambitious public engagement programme, digital transformation and the development of the Museum’s technical systems architecture.

The National Army Museum employs staff in all of the specialist areas relating to our collections: Curatorial and Collections Management, Digital, Exhibitions and Interpretation, Learning, Photography and Image Library, and Public Programmes.

In addition, we have staff providing other services including Commercial and Visitor Experience, Computer and Technical Services, Development Fundraising, Facilities, Finance and Administration, Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, and Records Management.

The Museum employs around 80 members of staff in both full and part-time positions, who are located either in the Museum at Chelsea, or at our purpose-built storage and conservation facility at Stevenage. A team of volunteers supports our work.
