Levison Wood: My Grandfather's War

Author and explorer Levison Wood discovers the story of his grandfather's wartime service in Burma through family memorabilia and National Army Museum archives.

Levison Wood's grandfather is one of five generations of the Wood family to have served in the British Army since the Boer War.

He served with 2nd Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers during the Second World War, taking part in the long and gruelling campaign in Burma.

In this short film, author and explorer Levison Wood takes an emotional journey back in time, with the help of his dad Lev Wood Senior and Dr Peter Johnston of the National Army Museum, discovering not only his grandfather's personal story, but that of many other soldiers who fought in the 'Forgotten War'.

The film will be available to watch on this page from 7pm on Friday 14 August.

This event is part of our VJ75: Never Forgotten series.
