Airborne Adventures

Summer mission: Parachute adventures
Design a parachute, prepare for your mission and attempt to land safely on our Giant Drop Zone. Then, discover an amazing medical invention that changed the lives of airborne troops.

Join our friends from the Anaesthesia Heritage Centre for this interactive family workshop exploring military medicine in the Second World War.

Investigate objects from our handling collection, before having a go at making your own parachute and testing it at our Giant Drop Zone.

Parachute Making

Session times:

  • 11.00am to 11.45am
  • 2.00pm to 2.45pm

Giant Drop Zone

Session times:

  • 11.45am to 12.15pm
  • 2.45pm to 3.15pm

Family drop-in activities are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

This activity is suitable for children aged 7+. All children participating must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
