The National Army Museum is undertaking a major redevelopment project called 'Building for the Future'. This will see the radical redevelopment of the Chelsea building which will require it to close on 30 April 2014. A number of services will also be suspended in preparation for the project.
The 'Building for the Future' project will improve the conservation of, and access to, the Collection through the rehousing of archives and specialist collections into improved storage facilities. To enable this activity, a number of collections need to be moved.
As the Collection will not be available during this period, the Picture Library is no longer accepting requests. This includes the purchase of digital images or prints from the Museum’s Art, Archives and Photograph collections.
Any requests submitted before 1 February 2014 will be processed. If you are unsure about the status of an item, please email email@example.com or call 020 881 2440.
A limited service will resume from 1 September 2014 when users will be asked to submit all enquiries via email - firstname.lastname@example.org - or by calling 020 881 2495. Any enquiries submitted between now and 31 August 2014 will not be answered.
Some National Army Museum images are available via third-party suppliers: The Bridgeman Art Library, The Art Archive and The Mary Evans Picture Library.
