What do we hold?

The National Army Museum's Collection comprises a large number of items dating back to the origins of the British Army. The Picture Library offers a service that enables you to purchase images of items for private or commercial use.

We can provide copies of most photographs, archives, works of art, badges, uniforms and equipment in the Collection.

How can our images be viewed?

Selected images can be viewed using the Online Collection. A list of our complete Collection can be searched using the Online Inventory.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, please complete our Photograph Enquiry Form or send an email to picturelibrary@nam.ac.uk. Your enquiry will be dealt with as soon as possible, but during busy periods this may take up to 28 working days.

If you would like to research our Collection and view original photographs and works of art in person, please visit the Access to the Collection page.

What can you buy?

Digital images or prints are available for purchase. Images can also be licensed for reproduction.

Unfortunately, in some cases we will be unable to provide images. This is because some items may be unavailable for photography due to access and conservation. The Museum must also have the legal right to offer a copy. Please read the copyright section in our Terms and Conditions (84KB).
