The National Army Museum's Collection comprises a large number of items dating back to the very origins of the British Army. The Picture Library offers a service that enables you to purchase images of items for study, publication, commercial use and personal enjoyment. We can provide copies of most photographs, archives, works of art, badges, uniforms and equipment in the collection.
There are no images available to browse online at present but samples of images can be supplied by the Picture Library free of charge. If you would like to know what we can offer, please complete our Photograph Enquiry Form or send an email to picturelibrary@nam.ac.uk. Your enquiry will be dealt with as soon as possible, but during busy periods this may take up to 20 working days.
If you would like to research our holdings and view original photographs and works of art in person, you are welcome to visit the Museum's Templer Study Centre.
Glossy photo prints or digital images are available for purchase and images can also be licensed for reproduction.
Unfortunately, in some cases we will be unable to provide copies or photographs. This is because some items may be unavailable for photography due to access and conservation. The Museum must also have the legal right to offer a copy. Please read the copyright section in our Terms and Conditions (84KB).
The National Army Museum's Picture Library is a member of BAPLA (The British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies) and AHFAP (The Association for Historical and Fine Art Photography).
