Sessions are not supervised or led by National Army Museum staff, children are the responsibility of the accompanying adult/s.
Adults are not permitted entry without an accompanying child.
Any child entering a session must have a valid ticket for that session.
Sessions are for one hour and will commence and finish at the given times.
For children using the equipment, the following rules apply for health and safety reasons: shoes, jewellery and badges must be removed; glasses should be removed or if worn they should have shatterproof lenses and/or a retainer; clothing should cover arms and legs; socks must be worn.
For adults attending the session, the following rules apply for health and safety reasons: shoes must be removed; socks must be worn.
Food, chewing gum and hot or carbonated drinks are not permitted in the Play Base area
Water can be consumed within the play base but must be contained in a plastic bottle with sports cap.
Intentional pushing, fighting, colliding, bullying, misuse of play equipment or any kind of behaviour, which is likely to cause injury or distress to another child or adult is not allowed.
Nappy changing and use of potties should be conducted in the bathroom facilities attached to Play Base.
All accidents and injuries must be reported to a Play Base staff member.
All spillages must be reported to a Play Base staff member.
Personal belongings are kept in the Play Base area at the owners' risk. The National Army Museum accepts no liability for misplaced or lost items.
All adults attending Play Base must wear a face covering when entering the Museum and for the duration of the session, to protect others in Play Base.
All Play Base visitors must use the hand sanitiser provided, on entry to Play Base.
Contactless temperature checks will be taken before entry to Play Base.
Anyone with a temperature of more than 37.8 degrees will not be admitted. The National Army Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to any other members of your group, should someone in your group record a temperature of more than 37.8 degrees.
If anyone in your booking experiences symptoms of Covid-19 within 14 days prior to visiting Play Base, we request that you cancel your booking. An exchange to attend an alternative session, subject to availability, will be given.
The maximum group size for each play base booking is 2 children and 1 adult and the National Army Museum reserves the right to refuse entry should this rule be exceeded.
As per the current government guidelines, please ensure your Play Base booking only contains people from the same household.
Terms and conditions of sale
Tickets are priced at £5.75 per child, aged 1-8 years old.
Adult tickets are free of charge.
A £1.00 booking fee applies per on-line transaction.
No more than two children and one adult ticket can be purchased in a single booking.
There must be one adult per booking with no more than one free adult ticket issued per booking.
No in-venue tickets are available to purchase.
No tickets for children under 1 year old are available to purchase.
We are unable to accept Play Base loyalty cards at present.
If entry to Play Base is not permitted due to non-compliance with rules of entry tickets will be non-refundable.
Online tickets will be available to purchase one week before the first session of the next calendar month.
Online sales for next-day sessions will close at midnight of the previous day.
Once a purchaser has booked a ticket/s they cannot then book again for the same session.
No refunds or discounts will be given for a whole or partial session not attended.
Tickets are non transferable and non refundable.
Health and safety measures
We have reduced capacity for all Play Base sessions, in line with social distancing government regulations.
A queuing system with social distance markers, for entry into Play Base, will be operated.
We have introduced temperature checking before entry to Play Base.
We encourage the use of the provided hand sanitiser and the attached bathroom facilities for regular hand washing, throughout sessions.
For your safety we have temporarily removed children’s activity toys, to prevent multiple handling throughout a session.
To maintain social distancing, whilst using the Play Base equipment, we are operating a reduced capacity for each area in Play Base. These areas are marked and will be explained by a team member, on entrance to Play Base.
For your protection, the team member will be wearing a face shield throughout the Play Base session.
Play Base and its attached bathroom and toilet facility is fully cleaned between sessions.
We are fully compliant with the government’s track and trace system and as such your details will be shared within 21 days of recording, if requested.
The Museum reserves the right to:
Cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances outside of its control. In these circumstances a full refund will be issued to the ticket holder.
Refuse entry to Play Base if it is deemed that the ticket holder is not meeting the terms and conditions.
Ask anyone, child or adult, to leave the session, if the terms and conditions or rules of Play Base are not being adhered to.
