London in the Second World War: The Blitz

Explore historic artefacts to discover more about the London Blitz and the people who worked to keep civilians safe.

Learners are presented with a range of recently unearthed time-capsules and challenged to work out, from their contents, who the capsules belonged to.

Next, learners will get the chance to look at a range of Second World War handling objects, exploring the different roles of Army personnel and civilian volunteers during the Blitz.

This session is 60 minutes long and includes:

  • Historic photographs and documents
  • Handling objects
  • Group discussion
  • Team work
