The Army and the Crown: BSL Tour
Follow expert guide Edward Richards on a British Sign Language (BSL) tour exploring the Army’s longstanding association with royalty.
Despite evolving from forces raised against the Crown during the British Civil Wars, the Army has long fought for King and Country. Its enduring and distinctive bond with the monarchy remains one of its defining features.
On this guided gallery tour, Edward Richards will highlight the Army’s complex relationship with the monarchy from its inception in the 1600s to the present day. He will consider the role of monarchs on the battlefield as well as their influence on structure and leadership. He will also show how the Army's ceremonial role has been woven into the fabric of royal pageantry over the centuries.
