D-Day: Sensory Session
Find out more about D-Day and its impact through a sensory session guided by our Community Engagement Team.
Gain an insight into Operation Overlord – launched on D-Day (6 June 1944) – through a combination of vivid descriptions and tactile experiences that bring to life stories from the Museum’s collections.
This is an opportunity to explore objects from the Second World War primarily through touch and description. We welcome visitors who would particularly benefit from this approach, such as those who are blind, partially sighted or who have complex support needs.
How to attend
You're welcome to drop in at any point during the session. There's no need to book or register in advance.
If you have any questions about the sensory session, please contact the Community Engagement Team by emailing communities@nam.ac.uk. Or, if you don’t have an email address, give us a call on 020 7730 0717.
