The History of the Chindits

Join Paul Corden as he explores who the Chindits were and explains their important role during the Burma campaign.
In February 1943 and March 1944, British and Indian soldiers of the Chindits - a long-range penetration force - undertook two major operations far behind enemy lines in Burma.
Founded and led by Brigadier Orde Wingate, the Chindits were tasked with sabotaging Japanese railways and roads, and supporting local Burmese resistance groups in the fight against the Japanese occupation.
Paul Corden will examine the role of the Chindits and how they contributed to ultimate victory in Burma.
