Jungle Commandos: The Battle for Arakan, 1945

Join historian, author and broadcaster Lucy Betteridge-Dyson as she explores the actions and experiences of 3 Commando Brigade in the jungles of Burma.
Following the Battles of Imphal and Kohima in mid-1944, the tide was turning against the Imperial Japanese Army. By the end of that fateful year, the Allies were preparing to launch an offensive in the coastal Arakan region of Burma (now Myanmar) to deliver a knockout blow.
In her fascinating new account, Lucy Betteridge-Dyson examines the actions of 3 Commando Brigade, who would spearhead this attack in a series of daring amphibious landings, penetrating into the depths of the Burmese jungle and culminating in the brutal fight for Hill 170.
Drawing on unpublished first-hand accounts, she will explore the experiences of the Commandos and their unsung allies in one of the bloodiest battles of the Burma campaign.
