Join us for the world premiere of Sky HISTORY’s brand new documentary, The Last Burma Star, followed by a panel discussion with the film’s makers.

To mark the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan, Sky HISTORY has commissioned a poignant one-off documentary special, The Last Burma Star, which follows veteran explorer Levison Wood and historian Alex Bescoby as they go in search of the last surviving veterans of the Burma campaign.

With personal testimonies, archival footage and expert analysis, the film examines the experiences of those soldiers from the region who served alongside British and Commonwealth forces against the Japanese during the Second World War.

Levison and Alex travel to India’s border with Myanmar in search of one particular survivor, a veteran from Burma who has never received proper recognition for his service, to deliver his long overdue campaign medal, the Burma Star.

Co-produced by Maya Vision International, Grammar Productions and Blackmane Media, and supported by official legacy partner the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the documentary will be released on Sky HISTORY in early November.
