Life Under Fire

'Life Under Fire' book cover
Jason Fox, veteran of the Special Boat Service, reflects on his military operations and explores how anyone can build the strength and resilience of an elite soldier.

We all face conflict in our daily lives. Some encounters threaten to crush us mentally, others cause anxiety and self-doubt, or damage our confidence. Whether serving in the Special Forces or rowing oceans, Jason Fox has experienced more than his fair share of these emotional and psychological battles.

In this exclusive event to launch his new book, ‘Life Under Fire: How to Build Inner Strength and Thrive Under Pressure’, Jason Fox will recount stories of the military expeditions that have tested his own resolve and discuss the tools he has developed at the cutting edge of an elite military career.

Jason Fox will be in conversation with Micheal Coates, former soldier and host of the Declassified podcast. They will look at how to build inner strength to help conquer life’s challenges and how to get mentally fit.

Jason Fox joined the Royal Marine Commandos at 16, serving for ten years, after which he passed the gruelling selection process for the Special Forces. He served with the Special Boat Service for over a decade, reaching the rank of sergeant. More recently, Jason has graced our television screens, giving us a taste of action and adventure around the world.

Michael Coates is a former soldier and firefighter with 15 years' combined service. He runs a veteran-owned company and is also the host of the multi-award winning Declassified podcast.

This event is a part of the National Army Museum’s Mental Health in the Military programme.
