The English Civil War remains the deadliest conflict ever fought on British soil. While much attention is paid to the battles that took place in England, the conflict also engulfed Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Many smaller battles, skirmishes and sieges took place across the ‘Three Kingdoms’, all contributing to the eventual outcome.
Join historian Colonel Nick Lipscombe as he discusses his new book, ‘The English Civil War: An Atlas and Concise History of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, 1639-51’, compiled with the assistance of the Battlefields Trust and the National Civil War Centre, Newark.
The book brings together the latest research on the subject and contains 150 maps that offer a complete picture of this revolutionary period in our history.
