Visit the world-renowned RMA Sandhurst, where Army officers have trained since 1802.
Following arrival, Dr Nicole Hartwell - the inaugural National Army Museum Research Fellow - will tell you about her research into the material culture of the British Indian Army. The talk will take place in the fitting surroundings of the Indian Army Memorial Room, with its magnificent displays of art from the National Army Museum's collections.
After that, Dr Anthony Morton - Curator of the Sandhurst Collection - will be your guide on a tour of Old College, taking in the Indian Army Memorial Room, the Chapel and the Riding School - the original site of the National Army Museum.
All participants will meet at the National Army Museum in Chelsea, before being transported to and from Sandhurst by coach.
12.30pm – Depart from the National Army Museum by coach
2.00pm – Arrive at RMA Sandhurst, with tea and biscuits in the Indian Army Memorial Room
3.00pm – Talk from Dr Nicole Hartwell
4.00pm – Tour of Old College with Dr Anthony Morton
5.30pm – Depart from Sandhurst by coach
7.00pm – Arrive back at the National Army Museum
