In this talk, Major General (retd) Paul Nanson CB CBE will tell the story of ’Stand Up Straight,’ the book he wrote while serving as Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
He will talk about why the book was written: to dispel the myths and to translate some of the lessons learned by generations of cadets into life lessons for all.
He will then bring the book to life by giving examples of how lessons learned on the battlefield can be utilised in the current environment: the need for leaders who can build bonds of trust; leaders who have presence; and leaders who can generate and sustain high-performing and resilient teams.
