'Not Just a Wife' is a unique insight into the lives of Army spouses and how their lives changed once they married a serving soldier.
The loss of identity but the ability to gain new skills; the constant moving but the opportunity to make new friends; the change of career into areas that would never have previously been considered but above all the sense of community and loyalty through shared experiences.
Throughout history, the story of the soldier in battle is recorded through war diaries and letters sent home. Little is known of the home front. This display describes the highs and lows of being part of an organisation that has changed in many ways and reflects on some of the 'traditions' that have transcended generations.
The display is free and displayed in our Atrium.
