Victory Dance

Coronavirus update

The National Army Museum will be closed to the public from 18 March until further notice following the latest government guidance in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Dancing at the National Army Museum
Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day and jive the night away at our 1940s dance.

On 8 May 1945, people across the UK took to the streets to celebrate the end of the Second World War in Europe. Seventy-five years on, join us in our very own celebrations and dance back in time down our immersive 'Victory Street'.

Shake and shimmy to the best tunes from the 1940s, played by The Syd Lawrence Orchestra Swing Shift Band. And try out vintage dances with SwingDanceUK. From 'Lindy Hop' to 'Jitterbug', they'll soon have you dancing with their beginner and intermediate lessons.
