i think kitcherner was the clear winner because at the time he was around britian was starting to lose thier grip on the empire and he lead famous beat downs of insurgents

Can you (NAM) justify your statement above, that "Kitchener failed to understand the realities of modern industrialised warfare"? What is your evidence for this? In his efforts to raise an army of a size needed for continental war he probably had a better grip of these realities than most.
