Slow Looking: Global Role

Join us for a guided tour of the art on display in our Global Role gallery, focusing on mindfulness and reflection.

From the age of empire to the international crises of modern times, Britain’s armies have served on almost every continent.

Throughout this period, artists have drawn inspiration from soldiers’ encounters with different cultures and customs, both during conflicts and in peacetime.

On this slow-looking tour, a member of the Museum's Community Engagement Team will introduce some of the key paintings in our Global Role gallery. 

Attendees will be invited to experience the artworks mindfully, lingering with each piece and reflecting on any emotions that arise.
