Introduction

The National Army Museum is committed to respecting copyright and other intellectual property rights. We make every effort to protect the National Army Museum's copyright and Crown Copyright, as well as copyright in any third-party material.

We support and encourage public access by providing on our Online Collection low-resolution images of works for re-use under a non-commercial licence, where possible.

Use of National Army Museum material by third parties

Material identified as copyright of the National Army Museum (© National Army Museum) may be reproduced free of charge under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives Licence (CC BY-NC-ND) where indicated.

Material identified as copyright of the Crown (© Crown Copyright) may be reproduced free of charge under the terms of the National Army Museum Non-Commercial Licence where indicated.

Please ensure you acknowledge the copyright status of the material and the inclusion of the attribution statement displayed on the Online Collection.

The National Army Museum provides high-resolution images for commercial and other uses through the services of third parties, Bridgeman Images and the Mary Evans Picture Library. Please visit these websites in the first instance if your requirements are not covered by the content available on the Museum’s website.

Please contact us in the event that you are the owner of the copyright or related rights of any of the material on this website, or material posted by the National Army Museum on a third-party website – including but not limited to YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn – and you believe that use of the material infringes your intellectual property or any other rights as defined by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Upon receiving your written complaint, we will issue an acknowledgement receipt within two working days and review your complaint in line with our internal procedures. During the investigation, the material in question will remain online and will only be removed in the event the investigation upholds your complaint.

  • A clear description of the material cited in your objection
  • Web address (URL) where the material appears
  • Evidence of your status as the rights holder of this material
