We just came off patrol and they say, 'Oh, there’s a cordon up there that needs everybody...' And I said to the guys: 'What are you guys up to?' - because I'll push myself, but I won’t push my guys. They said: 'We're there.' And so I said: 'OK, come on then.'

So we went up to this cordon to, you know, keep the people out and get out whosoever was in there, and all of a sudden the building just went – one big explosion. And a phone, a telephone dropped in the road beside me and - this officer – I picked up the phone and said: ‘It’s for you, sir!’ 

That’s the kind of person I was, you know.
