1945: The Reckoning

To mark VJ Day, join author and filmmaker Phil Craig as he explores some of the geopolitical implications of the Allied victory in the Second World War.
In 1945, Allied efforts across Europe and Asia culminated in victory. But the power shifts that followed would reshape empires and usher in a new world.
Introducing his latest book, ‘1945: The Reckoning’, Phil Craig will offer a humane and balanced assessment of what victory in the Second World War truly means.
Stripping away postwar nostalgia, he will expose uncomfortable truths – involving broken promises and bloody betrayal – while also highlighting individual acts of courage and sacrifice.
