Lieutenant General Chris Tickell CBE in Conversation

Army logo

Lieutenant General Chris Tickell, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, will discuss the proposed changes to the British Army and how it is going to project a fighting force for the future.

Lieutenant General Chris Tickell CBE is responsible for the Army Operating Model and is the Principal Personnel Officer. In layman’s speak, he is responsible for delivering the next fight in terms of equipment and soldiers.

In brief, Lieutenant General Tickell will discuss the proposed changes to the British Army and how it is going to project a fighting force for the future. All of this will be against the backdrop of a world still reeling from the coronavirus pandemic that is accelerating changes in global trends and changing political paradigms, as well as a future where the United Kingdom is redefining its relationship with the European Union and a shifting focus on the special relationship with the US.

The certainty of the established world order is looking decidedly fragile. In these shifting tectonic plates, Lieutenant General Tickell will discuss how the Army is planning against an uncertain future.
