Members Preview: Army at Home

Detail from a State Trumpeter's coat, c1911

Be the first to experience our newly refreshed Army at Home gallery, which explores the roles of the British Army on home soil in times of war and peace.

Join us for an exclusive preview of our Army at Home gallery ahead of its opening to the general public. This will mark the culmination of a two-year project to refresh the Museum's permanent displays.

The gallery explores the Army's home service from the 1600s to the present day. Starting with the Civil Wars, it goes on to reveal how soldiers have shaped and defended the United Kingdom, as well as highlighting their role in creating and maintaining a British identity. It also outlines the support they provide to civil authorities. Museum staff will be on hand to answer your questions.

Please bring your membership card to gain entry to the gallery. You can drop in at any time between 2.00pm and 3.30pm.
