Tales of Mary Seacole

Wendy Shearer
Delve deeper into the life of Mary Seacole and her Crimean War exploits in these storytelling sessions with Wendy Shearer.

In 1855, Mary Seacole travelled to Crimea to help soldiers injured in the war, just like Florence Nightingale.

Wendy Shearer is the author of ‘African and Caribbean Folktales, Myths and Legends'. She regularly works with schools and institutions across the arts, bringing stories to life. Her sessions include traditional music, beautiful props and story-making activities to delight the whole family.

Drop-in session times:

  • 1.00pm to 1.30pm
  • 2.30pm to 3.00pm
  • 4.00pm to 4.30pm

Family drop-in activities are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

These storytelling sessions are recommended for ages 5+. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the session.
