The Unknown Warrior Poetry Workshop

A deputation from Ireland visits the grave of Major Redmond at Locre, 21 September 1917

Join Poet in Residence Isabel Palmer online for a series of creative exercises inspired by the Unknown Warrior that will explore the idea ‘What’s in a name?’

The body interred at Westminster Abbey is that of an unknown soldier who died during the First World War. Join us for a series of creative writing exercises. There will be time to develop some verse during the workshop that participants can continue to work on once the session is over.

We will look at poems by Thomas Moore, John Agard, Alasdair Paterson, Isabel Palmer, Dorothy Una Radcliffe, Esther Morgan and Sujata Bhatt as well as content from the National Army Museum’s current exhibition ‘Buried Among Kings: The Story of the Unknown Warrior.’

This workshop has now sold out.

The session will be held via Zoom. We will send out the link 24 hours before the workshop takes place.
