Combat Stress 100

Explore mental wellbeing through the experiences of military veterans and their families.

In 2019, the National Army Museum's learning team partnered with Combat Stress and Age Exchange to work with a number of secondary schools to create a series of resources to raise the profile of mental health and to de-stigmatise mental illness.

The school pupils worked with military veterans to hear about their personal experience of military service, combat, trauma and treatment. They also worked with the Museum’s First World War collections to investigate the subject in its historical context.

This digital resource features the source materials used in the project as well as work created by the participating school pupils. It has been published to provide inspiration for schools who are planning cross-curricular projects that promote mental wellbeing in education.
