Join Dr Kate Vigurs and Justin Saddington to discover more about the women of the SOE, forerunners of today’s Special Forces.
This workshop will provide a unique insight into the Special Operations Executive (SOE), with a specific focus on the extraordinary women who served in the F-Section.
The SOE operated behind enemy lines and was instrumental in co-ordinating resistance networks, and communicating intelligence for the Allies in the Second World War.
Participants will be given exclusive access to objects used by these brave and secretive operators.
SOE expert Dr Kate Vigurs and National Army Museum Research Curator Justin Saddington will lead this engaging and interactive evening.
Formed in 1940, the SOE was an underground army that waged a secret war in enemy-occupied Europe and Asia. Its agents demonstrated incredible courage and resourcefulness.
During the Second World War, Britain created a range of special units who undertook a variety of daring operations against the Axis Powers. The bravery and commitment of these forces has become the stuff of legend.
