Passing Out: The Podcast

Passing Out: The Podcast

Join James Robert Moore, host of Passing Out: The Podcast, in conversation with serving soldiers and veterans as they share their stories and experiences of life in the Army.

Twenty-one years ago, the ban on homosexuality in the Armed Forces was lifted. Delivered in partnership with the Army LGBT+ Forum, this in conversation event will explore how far the Army has come in breaking down stereotypes over the past two decades.

James Robert Moore, host of Passing Out: The Podcast, will be speaking with the guests from the first three episodes of the podcast, and two current serving soldiers to discuss the impact of the ban, the differences in generations and the response to their stories being recorded.

The panel will include:

  • Sergeant Guy Lowe-Barrow MBE
  • WO2 Deborah Penny
  • Sapper Cameron Chilton
  • Corporal Rhona Carse
  • Robert Ely

Passing Out: The Podcast is a series of conversations with serving and veteran soldiers from the LGBT+ community sharing their stories, experiences and life lessons from their time in the British Army.

The Army LGBT+ Forum is a volunteer-led British Army Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity network, providing support to the Army LGBT+ community and advice to commanders.
